Description

You will live days of many emotions, after eating the nutritious buffets, you will get ready for a long walk along the National Reserve of Tambo pata, which will lead you to the Sandoval Lake. Here you will understand why Madre de Dios is known as the biodiversity capital of Peru. You will know the conservation works of the Reserve and the formation of the lake, sailing in canoe through this water mirror, home of the giant otter in danger of extinction, the blue and yellow macaw, the howler monkey, the black alligator, and one of the largest freshwater fish in the world, the Paiche. Also this program allows us to make night walks the mother river and god if we have time to visit the native family.

Itinerary

Day 01: Pick up in the airport / Walking in the rainforest4

The journey begins when you arrive in Puerto Maldonado and you are transferred to board the boat along the Madre
de Dios River to Ecolucerna Lodge (approximately 1 ½ hours downstream). Upon arrival you will enjoy a tasty lunch made with organic ingredients and native flavors. After lunch you will take a walk through the Lucerna trails. In these natural trails, located within the property you will discover and learn about the primary and secondary forest, its components, uses, transformations made by man, and its relevance to the world.

At the end, you will enjoy a dinner in the dining room.

 

Day 02: National reserve of Tambopata Sandoval Lake/ River by night

Today you will live a day of many emotions, after taking a nutritious breakfast buffet, you will get ready for a long walk along the Tambopata National Reserve, which will take you to Lake Sandoval. Here you will understand why Madre de Dios is known as the biodiversity capital of Peru. You will know the conservation works of the Reserve and the formation of the lake, sailing in canoe through this water mirror, home of the giant otter in danger of extinction, the blue and yellow macaw, and one of the freshwater fish largest in the world, the Paiche.  By the right time we will enjoy a delicious & traditional lunch in the middle of Sandoval lake with an amazing view, later you can use and enjoy a nap in the hamaks provided in the zone. After we comeback in the lodge, there will be enough time to rest and later you will navigate the Madre de Dios River, to know its ecosystem, amazonian streams, the behavior of nocturnal fauna and more.

Returning to the Lodge you will enjoy a restorative traditional dinner at dinning room.

Day 03: Artisanal fishing / Organic Farm / Visit the native families

Very early we are going to leave in the small boat to start our journey in the Gamitana ravine, where we will try our luck, once we reach the appropriate area, we start the artisanal fishing. While we wait we can observe the movement of the local fauna, hopefully we will observe some parrots, macaws, reptiles and the expected lazy bear on the top of the trees. During the day we will visit the native family, who still survive this area, with prior coordination with the group leader we can enjoy their stories and the original way of life.in our way, is located also the organic farm where we can show how our industry is trying to teach and avoid remove more and more green areas by the right way to work in the farming areas.

Day 04: Breakfast / Check out a Puerto Maldonado / Traslado al Aeropuerto

This morning you will have free to enjoy the sunrise and capture the breathtaking views towards the Madre de Dios
River.  Enjoy a last nutritious breakfast with organic ingredients from our pantry before leaving. You will travel by canoe with an outboard motor back to Puerto Maldonado. According to your  flight departure time, you can relax and quietly wait for your  flight home or to your next destination.
In case you have a free day and wait for your bus time, you can explore the city on your own and our executives at the
office will assist you.
Available Ecolucerna office, few meters from the central square, with water, wifi and travel assistance.
