Day 01: Pick up in the airport / Walking in the rainforest
The journey begins when you arrive in Puerto Maldonado and you are transferred to board the boat along the Madre de Dios River to Ecolucerna Lodge (approximately 1 ½ hours downstream). Upon arrival you will enjoy a tasty lunch made with organic ingredients and native flavors. After lunch you will take a walk through the Lucerna trails. In these natural trails, located within the property you will discover and learn about the primary and secondary forest, its components, uses, transformations made by man, and its relevance to the world. At the end, you will enjoy a dinner in the “HUNGRY CAYMAN” dining room.

Day 02: Expedition Lake Sandoval / Nigth Safari on the river
Today you will live a day of many emotions, after taking a nutritious breakfast buffet, you will get ready for a long walk along the Tambopata National Reserve, which will take you to Lake Sandoval. Here you will understand why Madre de Dios is known as the biodiversity capital of Peru.
You will know the conservation works of the Reserve and the formation of the lake, sailing in canoe through this water mirror, home of the giant otters who are in danger of extinction, the blue and yellow macaw, and one of the sweetwater fish & largest in the world “the Paiche”. By the right time we will enjoy a delicious & traditional lunch in the middle of Sandoval Lake with an amazing view, also here you can have a nap in the hamaks provided in the zone.
After we comeback in the lodge, there will be enough time to rest and later you will navigate the Madre de Dios River, to know its ecosystem, amazonian streams, the behavior of nocturnal fauna, find some black/white caiman or more. Returning to the Lodge you will enjoy a restorative traditional dinner at dining room.

Day 03: Visit to rescue center and Canopy / Artisanal fishing
An exciting morning to visit a space where rescuers work with animals in danger, who have been rescued from different situations and today have a place for their rehabilitation and possible reintegration into their habitat. Here we also take the opportunity to get on the canopy, a chain of hanging bridges in the canopy of the trees, which allows us to observe birds that inhabit the canopy, and a more privileged view of the rainforest.
In the afternoon, after lunch we take some time to visit our favorite places to fish in an artisanal way, here we will have time to try your luck to fish some local fish using local methods in a fun way with your guide.
Our day ends with a restorative dinner in the style of our Amazonian cuisine.

Day 04: Artisanal Fishing or visit to the native Farm / Transfer to the upper part of the Reserve / Night walk
We schedule an excursion to the farms, which allows volunteers and students to be part of social outreach projects. The objective is to improve the quality of life of native communities, through the cultivation of Amazonian fruit trees and forest species. Likewise, an organic and sustainable supply chain is created to supply the Ecolucerna Lodge pantry.
Together with your guide, we begins our journey to the upper part of the reserve, combining trips by boat – car – boat until we reach our friend lodge who is in charge of hosting you and we will also do activities such as the night walk if we still have energy.

Day 05: Macaw clay licks / kayac / Nigth walking / Check out to Puerto Maldonado
We wake up very early very early and after a delicious coffee, we board at 4:30 am upstream for an hour and thirty minutes, we will have the spectacular view of the sunrise high chances of seeing a jaguar on the banks of the Tambopata River. Arriving at our destination, we will meet a whole show of parrots, Macaws and some mammals and we will learn closely the reasons why these birds, and many other mammals need the clay of this wall for their daily diet throughout the year. This show entertains us from 5:30 am to 08:30 approx. Ones we come back to the lodge, we have chance to get in the water for kayak experience and finally have our lunch.
At the end you will travel by canoe – car back to Puerto Maldonado. According to your flight departure time, you can relax and quietly wait for your flight home or to your next destination
